NEW DELHI—The 82-year-old Bilkis, who was the face of the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) at the Shaheen Bagh protest site in South Delhi, has been chosen among 100 top most influential people in the world. She was fondly called “Dadi” (grandmother) by the protesters and all others owing to her age.
Throughout the agitation till it was lifted owing to lockdown to prevent spread of coronavirus pandemic, she would everyday walk from her house on foot and sit on dharna even during the chilling winter.

In several interviews to media as also to this portal, she said that she was fighting for preserving the plural character of Indian society and against the unconstitutional law that is considered to snatch the citizenship of India Muslims.
