Another Dalit girl gangraped in Uttar Pradesh, dies

NEW DELHI—After a 19-year-old Dalit girl was gangraped in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district, who subsequently succumbed to her injuries in a Delhi hospital, a 22-year-old Dalit girl was gangraped by two youths in UP’s Balrampur district on Tuesday. She also died while undergoing treatment.

According to police, the incident took place on Tuesday when she had gone out to seek admission in a college near her village. When she returned her home in the evening, she was having glucose drip inserted in her hand while her family members were searching for her.

She was immediately admitted to Balrampur hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Girl’s family members alleged that she had fractures in her hand and leges but police denied it, saying there is no such injuries mentioned in post-mortem report given by a panel of four doctors.

As happened in Hathras, the body of the girl in Balrampur was cremated on Wednesday night itself.

The accused have been arrested and a case pertaining to gangrape and murder registered against them.

8-year-old girl raped in Azamgarh

An eight-year-old girl was reported to have been raped by her 20-year-old neighbour in a village under Jiyanpur police station of Azamgarh district on Wednesday.

Azamgarh’s Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Singh told mediapersons that the accused was known to the victim’s family. The accused has been arrested and a case pertaining to sexual assault has been registered against him.

According to police, the accused cajoled the girl to accompany him outside where she was sexually assaulted.

Teenage girl raped in Bulandshahar

In Bulandshahar, a 14-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in Nagala Govindpur village under Kakore police station on Wednesday night. According to police, 20-year-old accused identified a Rizwan has been arrested on the complaint of the girl’s father.

Bulandshahr SSP Santosh Kumar Singh said, “Based on her father’s complaint, a case has been registered. The accused Rizwan has been arrested.”

Singh said that the accused is a neighbour of the victim. The incident, according to police, happened at night on September 30.

Police said that the families of the victim and accused tried to reach at some compromise initially. But the girl’s father lodged a complaint on September 30 evening.

16-year-old gangraped in MP

A 16-year-old girl was kidnapped and gangraped allegedly by three men in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. According to media reports, the girl was sleeping in a hut along with her brother when three men barged into the hut and attacked her brother who ran away to seek help. The accused persons dragged the girl to a nearby farm and raped the girl. By the time, girl’s brother returned the accused had run away, after leaving the girl on the roadside. An FIR has been registered and investigations are on.

19-year-old girl raped in Haryana’s Jind district

According to reports, a 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two youths in a village under Narwana police station of Jind district in Haryana on Wednesday. The mother of the girl told the police that she had gone out of the house for work and her daughter was alone at home.

It was during this period that two youths of the same village identified as Dharambir and Sajjan entered her house and raped the girl. The mother said that incidentally, she returned to the house when they found the two youths telling her daughter not to share the information with anyone and threatened of dire consequences if she did so. She said that the accused also threatened her and escaped. After that she informed the police. Jind district police spokesperson Pawan Kapoor said an FIR has been registered and investigations started. The accused are yet to be arrested.
