HATHRAS—Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh said has demanded probe into the alleged gangrape and murder of a 19-year-old Dalit woman under the supervision of a Supreme Court judge.
Talking to mediapersons on way to meet the family members of the deceased, he said that an “impartial inquiry into the incident is not possible without the SC’s supervision”.
He said, “Inquiry into the episode be conducted by CBI under the supervision of a Supreme Court Judge to bring out the truth”.
He said that it was ridiculous for UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to accuse the Opposition parties of trying to foment “communal and caste violence” in the state over Hathras incident.
He said, “BJP has a history of having been involved in communal violence. Now, BJP and its UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are levelling allegations against the Opposition for making a bid to provoke communal violence”.
“It is highly ridiculous on the part of Yogi Adityanath to say so”, he said.
Singh alleged that there were several loopholes in the whole police investigation and the government was trying to suppress the truth in incident.
