Modi government introduced an amendment into The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act [FCRA]. Which has passed in parliament last month. Amendments brought in massive changes in the way NGOs are supposed to work.

Many NGOs and Public Intellectuals have said that these Amendments would severely affect the NGOs operations in India.

More About Fr. Cedric Prakash– He is a Jesuit Catholic priest from Ahmedabad. He is a Human Rights and Peace Activist and writer. For more than thirty years now he has been at the forefront on issues related to human rights justice and peace He was deeply involved in accompanying the victim survivors of the Gujarat Carnage of 2002 in their quest for justice.


For his work he has received several national and international awards which include the KABIR PURASKAR from the President of India , the RAFI AHMED KIDWAI from the Indian Muslim Council USA , the LEGION OF HONOUR from the President of France , the MINORITIES RIGHTS AWARD from the National Minority Commission and recently he was awarded the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by the Delhi Minority Commission.

He networks and collaborates with several civil society groups including ‘WE THE PEOPLE’, the CITIZENS FOR JUSTICE and PEACE.
