NEW DELHI—A 15-year-old Muslim student who was wearing a necklace bearing the word “Allah”, was severely beaten by five of her classmates in a Berlin school on Friday.
The student was rescued by one of her teachers and sent to the hospital for treatment.
Anadolu Agency reported that the student was attacked in the bathroom. The five assailants removed her necklace and then physically assaulted her.
Police said that it was to be investigated if it was a religiously motivated crime.
The incident is in a series of Islamophobic attacks on Muslims in Europe and the US since the war between Israel and Palestinian fighters.
Germany hosts the second-largest Muslim population in Europe after France.
A day ago, three Palestinian students were shot at on a university campus in the United States because they were wearing Keffiyeh.
