New Delhi, 05 Feb 2014: A Delhi-based news magazine, which recently published a detailed report on Swami Aseemanand, accused in several bomb blasts including Mecca Masjid and Samjhauta Express, on Wednesday released two audio clips of the interview on its website. In these tapes Aseemanand talks to The Caravan journalist about the role of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat about blasts on which Aseemanand is accused of.

The Caravan magazine published an 11,200-word long cover story in its February-2014 edition with the title ‘The Believer,’ which sheds light on some unknown aspects of these terror strikes.

Aseemanand allegedly said to The Caravan journalist that RSS chief Mohan Bhagawat and senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar knew his plan for these terror strikes and gave their blessings as well.

“Knowing the national relevance of the sensitive information that Aseemanand revealed to The Caravan journalist, in an interview which was conducted with the full consent of Aseemanand, we place these facts in front of the public, along with a tape recording and transcript of parts of the conversation that mention Mohan Bhagwat,” a press release by editor of The Caravan Anant Nath and executive editor Vinod K. Jose reads.

According to The Caravan, the full interview of Aseemanand ran into 9.26 hours, but it uploaded two audio clips where Aseemannand allegedly named Bhagwat and Kumar.

“In the last two interviews, Aseemanand repeated that his terrorist acts were sanctioned by the highest levels of the RSS—all the way up to Mohan Bhagwat, the current RSS chief, who was the organisation’s general secretary at the time,” the press release explains.

Aseemanannd, who was arrested on November 19, 2010, has been accused in several blasts between 2006 and 2008 including Lahore bound Samjhauta Express (2007), Hyderabad Mecca Masjid (2007), Ajmer Dargah (2007) and Malegaon blasts in 2006 and 2008. A total of 119 people died in these incidents.
