Modi greets people on Eid

New Delhi, 17 July 2015: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted people on the occasion of Eid, which is being celebrated in several parts of the world today and will be in India tomorrow.

“The world and the nation will celebrate Eid. I convey my greetings on this occasion,” PM Modi tweeted on his official twitter handle @PMOIndia just before Friday prayers today.

Earlier addressing a function to mark the birth centenary of Girdhari Lal Dogra in Jammu today, PM offered Eid greetings to people.

“The Holy Month of Ramzan is ending. Eid is awaited with great enthusiasm in India and the world. On the occasion of Eid, I offer my best wishes to all who follow this festival,” said Modi while addressing the function at Jammu University.

Vice President M. Hamid Ansari has also conveyed his heartiest greetings and good wishes to the citizens of the country on the joyous occasion of Id-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of holy month of Ramzan.

“I convey my heartiest greetings and good wishes to the citizen of our country on the joyous occasion of Id-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of holy month of Ramzan. This festival signifies the traditional expression of brotherhood and understanding between people and reaffirms the spirit of compassion, charity and generosity. May the noble ideals that mark Id-ul-Fitr enrich our lives with peace, prosperity and harmony and unite us all in the spirit of humanity,” Vice President said in his message.
