New Delhi / Patna, 18 Aug 2015: Making strong comment on the economic package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar announced today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Ara district of the state, his arch rivals – chief minister Nitish Kumar and former chief minister Lalu Prasad – have cast doubt if the package will ever see light of the day.

Lalu Prasad, chief of Rashtriya Janta Dal, called the package another political Jumla for people of Bihar. “The special package is same like the deadly assurance he gave to deposit 15 lacs to everyone’s A/c. Another political Jumla for ppl of Bihar,” Mr. Yadav tweeted.

He also questioned the timing of the announcement of the package. “If the same package was given 15 months ago this could have been beneficial. The timing is totally suspicious & shows biasedness of Modi govt.”

Lalu also said Bihar needs special status, not special package. “Center govt must understand the huge difference btw special status & special package.Modi had promised special status to Bihar 1.5yrs ago”.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is in fray for third consecutive term, termed the package as mere announcement. “Promises, big bang announcements & packaging. Little actions & no delivery on ground. No wonder increasingly people say#BolneMeinKyaJataHai”, Nitish tweeted.

He also criticized Modi for saying why Nitish comes to centre again and again seeking assistance if Bihar is not ailing.

“For Bihar and people of Bihar, if I need to go as a petitioner to doorstep of any person, I will not hesitate,” tweeted Nitish in Hindi.
