Hyderabad, Jan 21: Showing solidarity with students demanding justice for Dalit PhD scholar Rohit Vemula, who committed suicide this Sunday, 10 professors of Hyderabad University have reportedly resigned a short while ago. All the professors belong to the SC/ST communities.
They also termed as fabricated the Wednesday statement of Union HRD Minister Smriti Iran over the issue.
26-year-old Rohit committed suicide at a hostel room of the varsity on Sunday. He along with four other research scholars were suspended from the university in Aug last year for allegedly attacking a saffron student leader.
