Beef charge against AMU “attempt to whip up communal tension”: VC

Aligarh, Feb 21: Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah has taken a serious note of the vicious allegations levelled by Shakuntala Bharti, BJP Mayor of Aligarh regarding serving of Beef at AMU’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College canteen.

“It is clarified that only buffalo meat is served in AMU and it would never violate national sentiments in this regard,” said the VC.

The VC said the allegation “is an attempt to whip up communal tension.”

He has also spoken to BJP MP Satish Gautam, who represents Aligarh in Lok Sabha, and according to AMU official, he has accepted the AMU Vice Chancellor’s stand.
