New Delhi, Feb 22: Eminent human rights lawyer Prashant Bhushan, while alleging a conspiracy behind the whole JNU row, has demanded the Delhi police to immediately register FIR against those who fabricated the video related to a controversial event at the university campus earlier this month.

“I have got information that the whole conspiracy was hatched at the office of a news channel. Some other channels and some people from BJP were also involved in it. They decided to do something big on the death anniversary event for Afzal Guru at JNU. According to the plan, a camera team was sent there and some people were sent for raising such slogans. That video too was edited and morphed where other sound was overlaid and then telecast,” said Bhushan while talking to IndiaTomorrow.net here on Monday.

He said fabrication of video is a serious crime.

“This is a very serious crime. The police should have registered FIR and investigated it. But police have still not registered FIR and still on the basis of the morphed, fabricated video they are trying to detain and arrest people,” he said on the sidelines of a protest demonstration at Chhattisgarh Bhawan here on Monday. The protest was organized against the acid attack on Adivasi activist Soni Sori.

“It is a serious offence and action should be taken against the guilty immediately under offenses such as fabrication with intent to create riot,” said Bhushan.
