New Delhi 7 May: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, one of the leading Muslim organizations, has expressed concern over the prevailing drought situation in various parts of the country.

“Jamaat-e-Islami Hind expresses great dismay and anguish at the scarcity of water and drought in various parts of the country,” said Mohammed Salim, secretary general, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, while addressing its monthly press conference at the headquarters in Delhi on Saturday.

Appreciating those who are trying to provide water to the affected people, Salim informed that Jamaat also is trying to provide water to the needy in Latur district of Maharashtra.

“Jamaat-e-Islami Hind applauds the individuals and organizations that provided water to the needy. The JIH (Jamaat-e-Islami Hind) cadre too has been busy and is contributing its mite in providing water to the needy and drought affected,” said Salim.

Criticizing the governments, Jamaat said “JIH feels that the incompetence and the misguided policies of the government are also to be blamed for this woeful situation”.

Apart from this, Jamaat lambasts Delhi police for recently arresting 13 Muslim men in suspect terror cases. Jamaat also appreciated Nitish Kumar government for ‘enforcing total prohibition’ in Bihar and demanded ‘a complete ban on alcohol’ across the country. Jamaat also raised voice over ‘deteriorating situation in Syria’ and condemned ‘the entirely terrorist style military strategy being unleashed in the name of putting an end to terrorism’.
