Pakistan Minister Removed over anti-Hindu Remarks

Islamabad, March 5— Pakistan Punjab’s Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan of the ruling PTI of Prime Minister Imran Khan resigned on Tuesday amid intense criticism over his derogatory remarks against the Hindu community.

The news was confirmed by the spokesperson for Punjab province Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Dawn news reported.

Official Twitter handle of the ruling PTI had this tweet Tuesday evening: “PTI Punjab government has removed Fayyaz Chohan from the post of Punjab Information Minister following derogatory remarks about the Hindu community. Bashing someone’s faith should not be a part of any narrative. Tolerance is the first & foremost pillar on which #Pakistan was built.”
