LUCKNOW—After days of alleged gangrape and murder of a a Dalit girl in Hathras that attracted international headlines, several incidents of violence against Dalits have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, with miscreants having no fear of police and administration.

In a shocking incident, three minor Dalit sisters sustained burn injuries when an unidentified youth threw acid on them in Paska village in Gonda district on Tuesday. One of the girls sustained injuries in the face.

They have been identified as Kajal, 17, Mahima, 12, and Sonam, 8.  They were sleeping on the roof of their house when they were attacked by an unidentified person.

The injured sisters have been admitted in Gonda district hospital for treatment.

The accused is yet to be identified and arrested.

While the chief accused in the case has been arrested, a manhunt has been launched for others.

Victim Amar, a resident of Roda village in Lalitpur, told mediapersons that Sonu Yadav forced him to drink his urine a few days ago. “When I refused, he attacked me with a stick. He also attacked my son with an axe. We then complained against him to the police,” Amar said.
