Lucknow—Appealing for peace and harmony, leaders from different Muslim religious organizations said that the foundations of injustice and its perpetrators were very weak.

The Muslim religious leaders made these comments while speaking at a ‘Peace and Justice’ conference at Gandhi Bhawan here a few days ago.

Stating that it was a historic conference to denounce injustice and its perpetrators, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s national president Syed Sadatullah Husaini asked the audience not to be disappointed or afraid of the prevailing situation in the country. He said that no matter how strong the forces of injustice might appear to be, the foundations of injustice and their perpetrators were always very weak.

“We must stand by our principles and faith,” the Jamaat leader exhorted.

Pointing out that it was our duty to make India an ideal country in every respect, the JIH chief said, “It is our religious duty to stand up for justice. We should take this ‘Peace and Justice’
movement to every nook and corner of the country.”

However, Mr Husaini said that this could be achieved only if people remained united firmly on their principles. “Our unity and resolve are our biggest strength. Our biggest strength against injustice is our unity,” he asserted.

The JIH president pointed out that there are leaders who use hate as a tool of success which is a sign of civilizational suicide. “It is indicative that the whole society is heading towards suicide. It is our responsibility to stop our country, our society, and our civilization from this suicide.”

Emphasizing the need to remain firm in our determination, the JIH leader said that perseverance was the most powerful form of resistance.

He said that people from all religions and groups took part in the freedom struggle of the country that made independence possible. “Today our country and society are in the shackles of hatred. Against this backdrop, the campaign started by different organizations and humanitarian groups for peace and justice is the demand of the time”, added the Maulana Salafi.

Addressing the conference Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, the general secretary of Jamiat-Ulama-e-Hind said, “We have gathered here to seek treatment for the diseases our country is struggling with. The remedy for this situation is possible only through the message of love.”

He said that people have spread hatred for their political gain to the extent that small children in
schools are made targets of this. “It is our responsibility to stand up and face these challenges with love and affection”, he added.
