Jamia Hamdard and the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) to boost entrepreneurship

NEW DELHI: Jamia Hamdard and the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) signed a memorandum of understanding at  the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) Centre, Noida, two days ago. 

The event was graced by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Mr Jayant Chaudhry, as the Chief Guest. The minister emphasized the importance of skill development amongst the students and suggested equipping themselves with modern technology i.e. Artificial Intelligence, IOT, blockchain etc.

The MOU was signed by Dr. M. A. Sikandar, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard and Dr. Poonam Sinha, Director, NIESBUD. The other dignitaries present during the occasion were Prof. Farhan Jalees Ahmad, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research; Dr. Babar Ali Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, Jamia Hamdard and Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Ms. Hena Usman, Director General, NIESBUD & Joint Secretary, MSDE, Government of India.

The objective of the MOU is to promote entrepreneurship among the target groups under the collaboration of both institutions for their gainful livelihood generation through self-employment. Also to enable the parties to identify mutual collaboration opportunities bringing together the strength of NIESBUD and Jamia Hamdard towards sustained development of entrepreneurial skills and education.

The area of the association will be to promote entrepreneurial activities amongst students of Jamia Hamdard. To identify the entrepreneurial opportunities and government-promoted programmes aligned with the scheme of Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Handholding of the small businesses established by students and any other activities that can be taken upon to promote entrepreneurship development.
