JAIPUR: On Saturday, a coalition of representatives from the Rajasthan Muslim Forum, the Forum for Democracy and Communal Amity Rajasthan (FDCA), the Daman Pratirodh Andolan Rajasthan, and other civic organizations met with the Police Commissioner of Jaipur to address concerns over a proposed large-scale rally advocating for a Hindu Rashtra.

Scheduled for September 29, 2024, this rally is organized by Yuva Shakti Manch and is deemed contrary to the secular values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. Extensive promotion of the event is underway, utilizing hoardings, social media posts, and videos. The announced route will pass through areas including Ramganj.

A viral video features Baba Balmukund Acharya, the MLA from the Hawa Mahal Assembly constituency, in connection with the rally. His actions raise serious concerns, as they appear to contradict the constitutional oath he has taken. The rally’s agenda is viewed as a challenge to India’s democratic framework. The delegation met with the Police Commissioner to inform him about the planned rally and to urge administrative measures against it.

“India is a secular nation governed by a Constitution that prohibits separatism. Organizing such a rally is unconstitutional and illegal. As representatives of various civic organizations, we vehemently oppose this event and request that you deny permission for this unconstitutional gathering. We also seek assurances for the safety of all citizens,” the delegation stated in a memorandum presented to the police chief.

The Police Commissioner assured the delegation that any actions violating the Constitution would not be permitted.

The delegation included prominent figures such as Sawai Singh (President, Samgra Seva Sangh and FDCA Rajasthan), Mohammad Nazimuddin (General Secretary, Rajasthan Muslim Forum and President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Rajasthan), Amin Kagzi (MLA from Kishanpole Jaipur), Hafiz Manzoor Ali (Jamiat Ulema Hind), and several others from diverse backgrounds and organizations.

The upcoming rally advocating for a Hindu Rashtra has prompted significant opposition, with various groups expressing their concerns to the police. The Commissioner has committed to ensuring that no unconstitutional actions take place.
