New Delhi, 16 Dec 2014: Reportedly displeased at controversial statements by some parliamentarians of the ruling BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to have asked them at today’s weekly meet not to cross ‘Laxman Rekha’.

He has reportedly told BJP lawmakers that controversial statements made by some of them are hurting the party and government’s image and that no one must cross the line.

Party MP Sakshi Maharaj earlier this week described Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as a “patriot” provoking the entire opposition to make a united attack on the government, and consequently the Unnao MP had to apologize. Last week another MP and minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti had made a hateful expletive language at a public rally of the party in Delhi. She was too forced to offer apology.

Some within the party feel comments like these are derailing the development agenda of the government.
