New Delhi, 30 Oct 2015: Slamming BJP President Amit Shah for saying firecrackers would be burst in celebration in Pakistan if his party loses in the Bihar assembly polls, sacked Gujarat IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt said he would celebrate if BJP loses in Bihar, throwing a witty question whether his celebration will make him an “anti-national traitor.”

“I declare: If BJP loses in Bihar, I will celebrate. Does that make me an anti-national traitor? Well, even if it does, who cares?” tweeted Bhatt with a smiley attached.

“If by any chance the BJP is defeated in these elections, crackers will be burst in celebration in Pakistan.” said BJP President Shah at a rally in Raxaul, along the India-Nepal border, in East Champaran district of Bihar. Shah’s comment has riveted severe criticism from all segments of the society, including the political circles of Bihar. Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad accused Shah of insulting the people of Bihar. “Amit Shah has insulted all Biharis, including Hindus, Muslims, Dalits, OBCs by terming us as Pakistani. It has again exposed his mindset for us,” Lalu told the media today.

Gujarat IPS Officer Sanjiv Bhatt was dismissed from services by the Union Home Ministry in August this year. Bhatt was suspended couple of years ago. Bhatt had accused the then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, now the Prime Minister of India, for the Gujarat riots 2002, which left nearly 2,000 people killed.
