New Delhi, 02 Dec 2015: On the occasion of 23rd anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition, six Left parties are coming together to hold a joint protest march against the rise in communalism and intolerance in the country.

The 16th century mosque was razed to ground by a saffron mob on 6th Dec 1992 in Ayodhya town of Uttar Pradesh.

In Sep this year, a 50-year Muslim was lynched by a Hindu mob in Dadri area of the same state over rumours that he ate and stored beef.

“It’s up to us, the citizens of India to declare that we will not allow the bullies and goons of the Sangh Parivar and BJP to hijack democracy and secularism!” said the organizers in a statement.

Six Left parties – CPI, CPIM, CPIML, RSP, Forward Bloc, SUCI (C) are together campaigning on the issue between 1-6 December. Their march will start at 11 am (Sunday) from Mandi House on 6th Dec and will culminate into a public meeting at Jantar Mantar near the Parliament House.
