Azamgarh town tense after objectionable Facebook post on Prophet

Saraimir (Azamgarh), April 28: Tension erupted in Saraimir town of Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh when angry mob through stone at police station in a protest against objectionable post related to Prophet Muhammed on Facebook.

According to report a person named Amit Sahu has posted objectionable content of his Facebook account and local people approached Saraimir police station for an FIR. The accused have been booked and arrested on Friday but local people alleged that police booked him in very simple charges and on Saturday they asked for a bandh and demanded National Security Act or NSA against the accused.

Angry protesters throw stones inside police station and several people injured in police lathi charge. Some policemen were also reportedly injured. Protesters blamed that one of the protesters were beaten by police without any reason which resulted stone pelting at the police station.
Situation is tense but under control and heavy police force is deployed in the town.
