20-Day-Old Girl Killed by Goons in Meghaninagar of Gujarat

Ahmedabad, June 8— While the nation was expressing outrage over the brutal murder of a toddler in Aligarh of Uttar Pradesh, another shocking incident took place in Meghaninagar area of Gujarat where a 20-day-old infant was killed in attack by goons on a family allegedly over old dispute.

Media reports say the infant died after being hit on the head by drunk miscreants who had come to her home to attack her father. The incident took place on Thursday night in Chamanpura locality of Meghaninagar.

Five goons came to attack her father Mukesh. When they did not find him at home, they started beating everyone came on their home, including women. The 20-day-old girl was sleeping in her mother’s lap when the goons hit her with iron rod. She was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.

The police have arrested two of the attackers – Satish Patni and Hitesh Marwadi. Three others – Gopal Patni, Deepak Patni and Lakhan Thakor – are still at large.

According to Ahmedabad Mirror, while police say there was some old enmity between the attackers and the victim family, residents of the area said that “Patni was a terror in the neighbourhood and although multiple complaints had been filed against him and his gang, the police did not manage to keep him behind bars for very long. He would eventually return to the locality and terrorise people.”

Last week in Aligarh of Uttar Pradesh, a two-and-a-half year old girl had gone missing and a case of kidnapping was registered on May 31 by the family. The body of the girl was found in a garbage dump on June 2. Two persons Zahid and Aslam have been arrested for the murder of the girl. Zahid allegedly killed the girl while the other accused helped him in committing the crime. The child was strangled to death.

The state government took strong action over the incident, slapped NSA against the accused and announced to fast-track the case to ensure speedy justice to the innocent toddler.

The accused had allegedly kidnapped the toddler after her father could not repay a loan of Rs 10,000.
