NEW DELHI— Student Islamic Organization of India (SIO), has strongly condemned the arrest and detention of student leaders and activists from various universities who were protesting against the Nuh violence outside the Haryana Bhawan on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by SIO media secretary Anees-ur-Rahman, “The protest was organized to raise our collective voice against the alarming rise of Hindutva forces against innocent citizens and state-sponsored terror in Nuh.”

The Muslim student body expressed concern over the police resorting to brutal measures against peaceful demonstrators, instead of taking action against the perpetrators of violence in Nuh.

“This action not only violates the fundamental rights of individuals to express their dissent but also reflects a concerning disregard for democratic values,” the SIO leader said.

“We demand the immediate release of all detained students and activists who were peacefully advocating for justice and condemning the state terror in Nuh. The authorities must uphold the principles of democracy and ensure that citizens’ voices are heard without fear of reprisal,” the SIO statement said.

“We demand the concerned authorities redirect their efforts toward addressing the root causes of violence and arrest the perpetrators of Nuh violence and ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens. The detention of protesters only serves to further erode trust in this administration’s commitment to justice and democracy,” the SIO statement pointed out.

“SIO stands united with the students, activists, and individuals striving against injustice and state terrors. SIO will continue to stand up for justice, equality, and the rights of all citizens,” the student body said.
