New Delhi, 12 March 2014: Among the 543 Members in the outgoing 15th Lok Sabha, there were 214 Agriculturists and 153 Social Workers – it means around three-fourth of the lower house of Indian parliament was connected to the ‘ground’. But only voters of their constituencies know how their representatives actually performed on the ground.
As per data available on the official website of Lok Sabha, the outgoing house had 98 Political & Social Workers, 89 Businesspersons and 73 Advocates also.
In the list of 65 professions, some MPs were also Writers (13) and Journalists (8).
