New Delhi, 05 April 2014: Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday got support from India’s most influential Muslim organization Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. With an aim to defeat candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party, Jamaat asked people to support Aam Aadmi Party candidates.

Addressing a press conference here at Jamaat headquarters, Nusrat Ali, Secretary General of the Jamaat said communalism is a bigger threat than anything else. Communal parties should be kept from power at any cost.

He said Jamaat would support any candidate who is strong enough to defeat candidates of communal forces.

He said that though Congress has failed Muslims but it is not a communal party as its philosophy, agenda and strategy do not support communalism and fascism. Jamaat will support Congress candidates in constituencies where only they are in position to defeat BJP candidates.

At the press conference, Jamaat issued a list of 73 constituencies in five states for which it has made up its mind.

Out of seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, Jamaat has decided about three seats as of now and in all these three seats, it will support AAP candidates.

The AAP candidates who have got support from Jamaat are Rajmohan Gandhi in East Delhi, Rakhi Birla in North West Delhi and Jarnail Singh in West Delhi constituency.
