Muslim leaders ask govt. to stop arrest of innocent youths

New Delhi, 04 April 2014: Leaders of India’s top Muslim organizations have unitedly asked the governments both at the centre and in states to “end its indifferent attitude towards the country’s largest minority and violation of human rights by the state machinery and to immediately release all the arrested people who are victims of the police.”

In a joint statement on Friday, they condemned the arrest of educated innocent Muslim youths and Ulema in different states of the country.

The alleged that government is either “acting on some imperialist or Zionist policy or is working under the influence of anti-Muslim mindset of fascist and communal officers of the administration.” If it is not the case, they said, then “how it is possible that the democratic values of the country and justice are being bludgeoned to death and the government perhaps as strategy is a mute spectator.”

In last two weeks around 20 youths and a cleric have been picked from Rajasthan and Delhi.
