Bangalore, 13 Jan 2014: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said at the Karnataka State Backward Castes Federation that other backward classes (OBCs) would be considered for quotas in cooperative institutions and housing under the Bangalore Development Authority, the Karnataka Housing Board, urban development authorities, municipal institutions and the Karnataka Slum Clearance Board in the state.

Currently, OBCs have not been enjoying reservations in cooperative institutions and housing. Only Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other nomadic tribes have benefited from it.

At the 10th anniversary celebrations-conference of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Federation at Madavara, the Minister told the audience that the Congress government had always been trying to give justice to not only minorities but also the poor among all castes.
