19 students of AMU qualify All India Geologist Examination

Aligarh, 16 Jan 2014: Nineteen students of Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University have qualified the All India Geologist Examination (Written) – 2013.

Dr Liaqat Ali Khan Rao, Chairman of the Department said that Ms Shaista Khan, Ms Sandhya Sharma, Mr Jawed Akhtar, Ms Sadia Urooj, Mr Mohd Adnan Quasim, Mr Ejaz Ahmad Khan, Mr Nepal Singh, Mr Mohd Arkan, Mr Waseem Chaudhary, Mr Syed Manan, Ms Naseema Jamal, Mr Junaid Ahmad, Mr Junaid Ansari, Mr Mehndi Abbas, Ms Tanveer Fatima, Ms Sumbul Quamar, Mr Mohd Hasan Ansari, Mr Abdul Samad Siddiqui and Mr Shamsheer Ahmad have performed excellently in the written examination conducted by UPSC. Dr Rao said that out of 147 vacancies, 19 students of AMU have qualified the written test.

Dr Rao said that the department has constituted a Training and Placement Cell, which extensively motivated the students for competitive examination of National and State levels. He said that the overwhelming success of the students has initiated the Training and Placement Cell (Geology) to render services to the qualified students for their personality development.

Dr Rao said that the success of these students is a testimony of their hard work, dedication and guidance offered by the faculty members, especially the Training and Placement Cell of the Department.
