New Delhi, 03 June 2014: The shocking and sudden death of Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde has created doubts in the mind of several people including some BJP leaders of his home state Maharashtra who said there could a conspiracy behind his death and demanded a probe by Central Bureau of Investigation.

BJP spokesperson in Maharashtra Avadhut Wagh, on micro blogging site twitter claimed that there is a conspiracy behind the accident.

“This is not an accident, it is beyond it. I demand CBI enquiry of the incident,” Wagh tweeted.

“Mahajan first, then Mundhe. Is it not a conspiracy to finish Mahajan-Mundhe family from politics? How such 2 big leaders dies un natural death,” he further tweeted.

In May 2006 senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan was shot dead by his elder brother Pravin in Mumbai. Munde was brother in-law of Mahajan.

Munde died in a car accident on Tuesday morning (03 May 2014) here in New Delhi.

“Unless an inquiry is done, we won’t be satisfied. People think this could be a conspiracy. Although I am not a policeman to decide whether it was an accident, and to inquire on this matter is the job of police, I would just like to add that Mundeji used to travel in a high security vehicle with guards, how come he was in a normal car,” English daily DNA quoted Wagh as saying.

Another Maharashtra spokespersons of BJP Prakash Anna Shengde also demanded for CBI probe.
“It is hard to believe that such a big personality like him, a VIP, a minister of India with so much security, would pass away in an ordinary accident,” he said. He added, “At six in the morning there is hardly any traffic in Delhi, in that situation, a car being hit from behind doesn’t make sense,” Shengde told Zee TV.
