Mumbai, 11 August 2014: Mumbai Sessions Court this past Friday acquitted two Muslim youths of all terror charges levelled by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad which had arrested them in November 2010.

According to Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra, which was providing legal help to the accused, Session Court Judge acquitted the youths for lack of sufficient proofs against them. The Maharashtra ATS had charged them of conspiring to blast main government installations and Bhaba Atomic Research Centre. The ATS had also charged them as being members of banned terror group Lashkar-e Taiba. The accused Mohammad Shareef and Mohammad Ishaq were booked under various sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and Indian Penal Code.

The court, however, found them guilty of having unlicensed pistol and bullets and sentenced them for three and half years in jail. They are already in jail since November 2010.
