New Delhi, Oct 11: If Delhi has 1.5 lakh homeless people, it has 85 lakh cars also. So, the lives of these homeless people can be easily transformed if the blessed people of Delhi come forward to help them. This is actually the basic booster behind the campaign ‘Each Blessed Adopt A Homeless’ launched by the city-based NGO Marham here on Monday – on the occasion of World Homeless Day.

The launch program was attended by eminent people including Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia.

Marham was launched in December last year and has since transformed the lives of 11 young footpath dwellers. While three have got reunited with their families after living on footpaths and night shelters in Delhi for several years, seven youth have got admissions in National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). All the 11 were sheltered at a rented accommodation of Marham.

Sisodia applauded the work of Marham and promised full support by his government in its future endeavours. He further said that the government, NGOs like MARHAM and people of Delhi should work for the cause of homeless rehabilitation together.

Sisodia had also spent some night hours at Marham’s Feel The Footpath event on Saturday.
