Patna, Oct 15: Member of Parliament and former Bollywood star Shatrughan Sinha has appealed to ‘dashing’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring to book the culprits behind the custodial death of 22-year-old Minhaj Ansari in Jamtara district of Jharkhand and suicide of entire family of bureaucrat B.K. Bansal in Delhi.
In a series of tweets Friday evening, BJP leader Sinha, who represents Patna Sahib constituency in the Lok Sabha, made three demands “to Govt. of the day” and to “dashing PM”.
“Now the alleged custodial death of Minhas in Jharkhand & earlier suicide of entire Bansal family due to CBI torture – time for action,” he tweeted.
While making “Humble appeal to Govt. of the day” he put three demands “For kind perusal of our dashing PM.”
–“Bring culprits to the book with stern deterrent action.”
–“High time & right time to get professionals with integrity and humane touch in CBI & Police.”
–“Every interrogation needs to be recorded on CCTV.”

Minhaj was arrested on 3rd Oct in Jamtara district of BJP-ruled Jharkhand for allegedly sharing an image of a slaughtered cow with a comment. He was allegedly tortured in the local police station and when he fainted and did not regain consciousness despite efforts by the police, he was first taken to the local government hospital, then to Dhanbad Medical College & Hospital and from there to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi on 7th Oct. He died there on 9th Oct.

In the FIR lodged on 6th Oct when he was being treated at Dhanbad hospital, his mother said that the doctors told her that his son got internal injuries due to torture and he had slipped into coma.

Central government bureaucrat B.K. Bansal was suspended from the post of Director General Corporate Affairs in Delhi three months back for allegedly accepting a bribe. He was later arrested. In Aug, his wife and daughter committed suicide allegedly due to pressure and torture of probing CBI team. Bansal and his son also committed suicide in first week of Oct. In his suicide note, Bansal blamed some officials of probing team for the suicide of whole family.
BJP is ruling at the centre since May 2014 when the party came to power with thumping majority under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
