Bhopal, Oct 31: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has termed as a “serious matter” the Bhopal jailbreak and the subsequent police encounter. He has sought an NIA probe into the incident. However, Congress has said that the probe should be monitored by court.
Eight under-trial prisoners, who are said to be members of banned SIMI outfit, reportedly escaped from the Bhopal Central Jail after killing a police constable in the wee hours on Monday. Hours later, all of them were gunned down in a police encounter at the outskirts of the Madhya Pradesh capital.
Reacting over the incident, chief minister Chouhan said, “Want to congratulate our forces, but we are looking at this very seriously. Locals played a crucial role as well, they updated us about the location and all other information. This is a serious matter therefore investigation will take place, further action will be taken based on the findings.”
Chouhan reportedly spoke to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and suggested that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) should probe the matter. “I spoke about how NIA should carry out the investigation in the matter. The home minister agreed,” Chouhan was quoted as daying by NDTV.
यदि NIA से ही जॉच करवाना है तो जॉंच अदालत की मॉनिट्रिंग में होना चाहिये और जेल की कार्य प्रणाली की न्यायिक जॉंच होना चाहिये।

अगर ज़िंदा पकड़ते तो पूरी घटना की जानकारी मिल सकती थी। किन्तु सारा घटनाक्रम भी उजागर हो जाता। शायद इसीलिये मार दिया गये।

However, Congress has raised some questions on the jailbreak.
In a series of tweets a short while ago, Congress leader and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh asked why only SIMI members escape from jail and if those killed in the Bhopal encounter had weapons.
“क्या कारण है कि जेल से सीमी से संबंधित क़ैदी ही क्यों भागते हैं ? आठों को मप्र पुलिस ने मार गिराया। क्या क़ैदियों के पास हथियार थे,” (Why only SIMI men break jail? All eight were gunned down by Madhya Pradesh Police. Had the prisoners have weapons?), asked Singh in a tweet.
Going ahead, he also questioned why all were killed and not arrested alive.
“अगर ज़िंदा पकड़ते तो पूरी घटना की जानकारी मिल सकती थी। किन्तु सारा घटनाक्रम भी उजागर हो जाता। शायद इसीलिये मार दिया गये।”, (If the Police had caught them alive, all information could be got from them. But it could have exposed the whole episode. Perhaps for this reason, they were killed) said Singh.
“यदि NIA से ही जॉच करवाना है तो जॉंच अदालत की मॉनिट्रिंग में होना चाहिये और जेल की कार्य प्रणाली की न्यायिक जॉंच होना चाहिये।”, (If NIA is to probe the case, the probe should be monitored by court and working system of the jail should also be probed), demanded Congress leader.
