New Delhi, Jan 4: Questioning the real intention behind the demonetization drive of the central government, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has demanded President of India to order a high-level probe either by a judge of Supreme Court or a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the matter. Terming demonetization as an unplanned move, SDPI also alleged BJP for imposing it in an undemocratic manner causing economic damage, increase in corruption and many hardships to common people.

Accusing BJP to work as a slave of capitalists, Adv. Sharfuddin Ahmad, national vice-president of SDPI said, “The government is the slave of corporates and working on their directions. On administrative level this government has totally failed.”

“This demonetization has collapsed all businesses and it will increase poverty and will push people into more hardships. Today, the situation is such that if anybody opposes demonetization he will be called anti-national and considered as a supporter of those who keep black money,” said Ahmad while leading a protest march against demonetization here at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday.

“This is a matter of investigation how 8 carore Rs were deposited in BJP’s West Bengal Account and how many leaders of BJP were caught with carores of money in new notes,” he asked.

While speaking to IndiaTomorrow.net, Adv. Sharfuddin said, “More than 100 changes and more than 100 deaths post demonetisation, there is an atmosphere of disappointment across the country. Modi ji asked the country to give him 50 days’ period, people waited but when he addressed the nation on 31st December, he neither spoke about sufferings caused to the people nor the damages caused to the country and he did not even announce anything which could give relief to people.”

Calling demonetization an undemocratic and harmful decision for the country, Adv. Sharfuddin demanded a JPC or Judicial probe in the matter.

“It should be probed as to why just after demonetization Rs 1.25 lac crore loans of some capitalists were written off while there is no remedy for common people. JPC or SC judge should enquire all aspects of pre and post demonetization. So, we are submitting a memorandum to the president to order an enquiry so all the facts associated with demonetization could be revealed,” he demanded.

Dr. Nizamuddin Khan, national co-coordinator of SDPI alleged central BJP government to cause hardships to the people and said, “For last two months all farmers, laborers and youths are worried. People have been compelled to live in worst situation. People are unable to get their own money. Modi has made people beggar. This is an economic emergency.”
