Ex-PM Manmohan Singh releases Congress’s manifesto in Punjab

New Delhi, Jan 9: Former Prime Minister and Congress leader Dr. Manmohan Singh on Monday released the election manifesto of his party in Punjab. He was accompanied with former chief minister and party’s candidate for the post Captain Aamrinder Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh said: This better tomorrow will see development of the State both in the Economy & management of the polity.

Attacking the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP government of the state, Dr Singh said: “The fiscal situation in Punjab under the SAD-BJP Govt has been mismanaged in a manner which is unprecedented.”

Dr Singh led the country as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014.

Punjab will go to polls on 4 Feb. Four other states Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa are also going to polls for new assembly in Feb-March. Results of all the states will be declared on 11 March.
