IndiaTomorrow.net,
New Delhi, April 24: CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Monday condemned attack allegedly by BJP leaders on policemen in Uttar Pradesh and said this shows there is jungle raj in the state.

“BJP MPs and MLAs are leading mobs to attack police stations in UP. If this is not jungle raj, what is? Constitutional responsibilities?”, tweeted Yechury a short while ago.

In the last three days, there were two attacks on policemen in Uttar Pradesh. In first incident, a mob led by some BJP MPs, MLAs and local leaders barged into the residential complex of Senior Superintendent of Police in Saharanpur and ransacked its gate. In the second incident, some Bajrang Dal people attacked a police station and assaulted a sub inspector.

Yechury asked when the country rightly got enraged over attack on cops in Kashmir, why the attack on cops in UP is different.

“We get enraged (and rightly so) when cops attacked by stones in Kashmir. How are these BJP MPs and MLAs different when they attack police,” he asked.

Meanwhile, several people have been arrested in connection with both incidents.
