Pehlu Khan was killed for the crime that he was a Muslim who wanted to keep a cow: Yadav

IndiaTomorrow.net,
Mewat, Haryana, April 30: Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav on Saturday gifted a cow to the family of slain dairy farmer Pahlu Khan to help them earn livelihood. Mewat native Khan, 50, was lynched by a gang of self-styled Gau Rakshaks in Alwar district of Rajasthan earlier this month.

“Mewatis are traditional gau palaks (cow rearers)…Pahlu Khan was killed for the crime that he was a Muslim who wanted to keep a cow,” tweeted Yadav after gifting a cow to Khan’s family.

Yadav also visited three other local people who were also brutally assaulted by the cow vigilantes when they along with Khan were returning after purchasing cows and calves from a government-run cattle fair in Jaipur on 1st April. They had valid purchase documents but the attackers did not heed them. After assaulting them, they took away their cattle and also around Rs 75,000 from them.

Earlier this month, the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) also gifted Khan’s family a cow – the precious animal that has long been their source of livelihood but unfortunately the same animal became the cause of death of their lone bread-earner.

Almost one month has passed since the incident, neither Rajasthan government nor Haryana government – both run by BJP – have announced any compensation to the victim family or the injured.
