Composite Nationalism Theory Key to Address Communal Hatred: Jamiat Ulama

New Delhi, Dec 15: Maulana Usman Mansurpoori, President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, has said that the idea of composite nationalism must be introduced to counter communal tension between the communities as Islam teaches common bonding on human basis.

He was speaking at a seminar on the contribution and achievements of Jamiat’s two prominent founding members Maulana Abul Muhasin Sajjad and Maulana Syed Mohammad Miyan.

In his speech, Maulana Mansurpoori lauded the role played by these leaders in the freedom movement and said that these two leaders had played crucial role in freedom movement and guided the nation and community at the very critical juncture of the history. Both these stalwarts were champions of Hindu-Muslim unity, composite nationalism and opposed to idea of dividing the country in the name of religion.

Many eminent figures featured the event held in Delhi on Saturday. They included Jamiat’s General Secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani, head of Jamiat’s other faction Maulana Arshad Madani, academician Prof. Akhtarul Wasey and others.

Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadawi, President of the All India Muslim Personal law Board, in his message to the event said that the new generation of Muslims is unaware of the contributions made by their ancestors, therefore there is need to highlight the shining role played by Muslims in the past so that they could face every situation with courage and tenacity.
