Chandigarh, Dec 28: Buoyed with huge favourable response from people to Congress poll promise of farm loan waivers in the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the party has now promised the farmers in Haryana to waive loan within six hours of coming to power.
In the recent Assembly polls in three of the BJP-ruled states, riding on loan waiver wave, Congress dethroned 15-year BJP regime in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and ousted the party from power in Rajasthan. During the campaigns, farm loan waiver was the topmost promise of Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
The BJP-ruled Haryana will go to Assembly polls next year.
Addressing a press conference in the state capital on Thursday, senior Congress leader and two-time Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that in six hours of coming to power in Haryana, Congress government will waive loans of farmers.

Hooda made two more big promises.
He said the Congress government will halve the electricity rate in 12 hours and increase the monthly old-age pension from Rs 2000 to Rs 3000.
It is expected that voters in Haryana will take his promises seriously as Chief Ministers of the Congress governments in the three states waived farm loans just day after taking charge.
Meanwhile, taking the Assembly election results seriously, some BJP governments, including Assam and Gujarat have also announced relief measures for farmers.
