25 AMU Law Graduates Qualify UP Judicial Services Exam

Aligarh, August 12— As many as 25 students from the Department of Law, Aligarh Muslim University, including Harihar Gupta, who secured the second all-UP rank, qualified the Uttar Pradesh Judicial Services (Civil Judge) examination, 2018.

Twenty-five students, including 14 girls, got selected and “it is in line with the illustrious legacy of producing judicial officers”, said Professor Zaheeruddin, Dean, Faculty of Law, AMU.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on July 22 declared the final results of Provincial Civil Service- Judiciary also called PCS-J exam 2018. Akanksha Tiwari was the topper while AMU law graduate Harihar Gupta got the second rank.

In the list of 610 successful candidates, there were 25 AMU law graduates.

Just a cursory look at the successful AMU law graduates above punctures the propaganda of a certain political section about AMU.

The Vice Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor congratulated the students and hoped their resounding success will inspire other students.

Professor Javaid Talib, Chairman, Department of Law, also congratulated the students on their success.

“The results reinforce the standing of the Aligarh Muslim University, and in particular, the Department of Law that has emerged as a frontrunner in recent rankings,” he said.

In the list of 610 successful candidates, 39 were from the minority Muslim community – 19 among them were women.
