NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 02— The Election Commission of India on Sunday removed Chinmoy Biswal, DCP, South-East Delhi, from his present post with immediate effect. The EC took the decision day after a gunman opened fire at the Shaheen Bagh anti-CAA protest. Two days ago, another gunman had fired at anti-CAA protest at Jamia Millia Islamia.
Both Shaheen Bagh and Jamia Millia come under the jurisdiction of DCP, South-East Delhi.
Both incidents of firing had taken place in the presence of police personnel.
