NEW DELHI, MARCH 12—The supreme Court has told the UP government that there was “no law to support you on the name and shame posters” that UP government pasted at public places against social activists in Lucknow.

These observations were made by the apex court while hearing a petition filed by the UP government challenging the Allahabad high court judgement of March 9, asking the state government to remove the posters.

The Allahabad High Court had observed that the action of the UP government was “unwarranted interference in privacy of people”.
