Furore in Jaipur Over Controversial Remarks about Islam In Political Science book

Jaipur–In the “One Week” series published by the Sanjay Prakashan of Jaipur in Rajasthan, a controversial remark has been made regarding the religion of Islam, about which people of the Muslim community are protesting.

In the final year paper titled “International Relations and contemporary Political issues” of  MA (Political Science),  a question has been asked, “What is meant by Islamic terrorism?” In response to this question, the author has answered, “Islamic terrorism has become popular because the nations which believe in Islam are on the path of terrorism.”

Earlier, another Jaipur-based publisher, Sanjeev Prakashan, had also published a similar question in its One Week series, which also caused a lot of controversy.

On the matter, an application has been given by the Muslim Council of Rajasthan to the police station officer to register a complaint against Sanjay Prakashan in the Kotwali police station, Chhoti Chopad. FIR has been registered.

Speaking to India Tomorrow, Tejpal Jain, owner of Sanjay Publishers said, “We don’t know what the author is writing. We copy the content directly from the books in the One Week series. I am sorry if anyone gets offended by this content.”

Jain said that, “We are taking back all the one week series that have gone in the market. We have no enmity with any religion. If we had known that it contained such content, we would never have allowed this to happen.”

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan Secretary Naeem Rabbani, while talking to India Tomorrow, said, “In the past, similar hate comments were made by other publishers like linking Islam with terrorism. We had filed cases against those publishers earlier but no action was taken against them and now this new case has come to the fore.”

He said that, “By distorting Islam in this way in the books, they want to create hatred towards Islam in the minds of the new generation, which will increase the animosity against Islam among the people.”
