NEW DELHI—Dr Kafeel Khan of the BRD Medical College and Hospital in Gorakhpur, who was suspended in 2017 after the death of 70 children due to lack of oxygen, was dismissed on Thursday.
The New Indian Express, reporting the dismissal, said that the termination order was issued by UP principal secretary (Medical Education) Alok Kumar.
However, Dr. Khan’s case is still pending in the Allahabad High Court.
Reacting to the development, Dr. Khan told media persons that he was surprised over his dismissal when the court had given a clean chit earlier.
