RANCHI—Edara-e-Sharia, a socio-religious organization of Muslims will host ‘Milli conventions’ at 42 places in Jharkhand between January 11 and January 30.
The basic aim behind these conventions is to create awareness of the fundamental and educational rights of the community and promote social harmony.
Maulana Kutubuddin Rizwi, the nazim-e-aala (chief administrator) of the Edar-e-Sharia, on Saturday said the conventions would promote social harmony among different communities in the state.
Distinguished guests, including ulema, sufi saints, scholars, doctors, lawyers, educationists and experts in different fields of Islamic and modern education would attend the conventions.
According to Maulana Rizvi, there is a need for establishing a university in the name of freedom fighter Sheikh Bukhari and educationist Allama Arshad-ul-Quadri.
He also called for setting up of primary centres for basic education in Urdu and English to be set up at 92 places in Jharkhand.
Rizwi further said, “There are several issues which had affected the fundamental rights of the community. The Waqf board is non-functional for the past six years. The minority commission is without a chairman and members for two-and-half years.”
Similarly, the Madarsa board and the Urdu academy have not been formed. The Urdu schools, which were merged against rules by the previous government, have not been restored.
“We want to spread public awareness on the issues,” he said.
A district-level meeting of the Milli Convention, Ranchi Preparation Committee and Welcome Committee was held at Hazrat Qutubuddin Risaldar Baba Dargah in Doranda on Sunday (January 9, 2022).
The meeting was presided over by Hazrat Maulana Dr Tajuddin and conducted by Hazrat Maulana Masood Faridi and Maulana Aftab Zia.
In the meeting, Nazim Ala Hazrat Maulana Qutubuddin Rizvi discussed in detail the convention to be held in 42 places.
All the people present took a pledge to make the convention a success. The January 30 convention will be held at Urs Maidan Doranda, Ranchi.
The meeting was attended by the president, secretary of the masjid committees, imams and ulemas.
