NEW DELHI—All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has appealed to Muslims to celebrate the festival of Eid-ul-Adha ensuring that their actions do not harm others and that the filthy part of the animals sacrificed are not thrown on the road and in settlements.
The board general secretary Khalid Saifullah Rahmani said that “throwing filthy part of the animal on the road and in settlements is against Shariah, that is, the Islamic Law”.
He said that it was the responsibility of every one to abide by the law and protect the society from diseases. “We must take care of cleanliness and maintain peace and harmony,” Maulana Rahmani said in a statement.
Meanwhile, an NGO asked Muslims not to slaughter the sacrificial animals in open and advised them not to dump waste materials on road, pavements or in sewer.
it said that due to monsoon season, maintaining extra hygiene is important. Throwing of animals’ waste material on roads and pavements might result in spread of diseases.
It also asked people to avoid filming and sharing videos of the act of Qurbani on social media platforms, like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. The NGO also suggested people to run sanitation drives in their respective areas after the Qurbani is over.
As for offering namaz, the NGO appealed to Muslims to avoid praying on roads that disrupts traffic and movement of people. It said that if the number of people is large, having multiple Jamaats in the mosque or Eidgahs is a better alternative.
In another advice, the NGO appealed to soften the loudspeaker sounds for Azaan and Khutba to avoid inconvenience to public, particularly in areas with mixed population.
