Akal Takht chief releases book on Prophet Muhammad

Malerkotla (Punjab), 21 June 2014: Giving a strong message to communal elements, head of the highest seat of Sikh religion Akal Takht Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh said that a true religious person never believes in hurting religious sentiments of individuals or groups. The priest, who is also known as Singh Sahab, was releasing a book on the life of Prophet Muhammad in Punjabi language here last week.

Giving various examples of significant Sikh-Muslim relations and unity he stated that selfless service to humanity is the right way to get the blessing of Almighty.

The book “Hazrat Muhammad (s) – Itihas Nirmata” was written by Punjabi writer Noor Mohammad Noor.

Noted Muslim scholar Mufti Fuzailur Rahman Hilal Usmani stressed on availability of religious literature in different languages and said that it is basic right of human beings to access these literatures in their mother tongues. He said that Punjabi community has a shortage of Islamic books in Punjabi language.

Usmani, who is also founding member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, explained the basic concept of Islam and prophethood.

The function was organized by a literary forum ‘Punjabi Sahitak Parivar’.
