NEW DELHI, JUNE 14—The Supreme Court has refused to stay the FIR registered in Shimla against journalist Vinod Dua on allegations of sedition, livelaw.in reported.

However, the apex court asked the police not to arrest Dua before July 6, the next date of hearing.

The court also directed the police to interrogate him at his residence.

However, the bench comprising Justices U U Lalit, Mohan M Shantanagoaudar and Vineet Sadan directed the Himachal Pradesh police to give 24 hours prior notice to Dua before they want to interrogate him.

The FIR in Shimla was filed on a complaint by BJP leader Ajay Shyam.

The Himachal Pradesh police summons came two days after the Delhi High Court stayed an FIR registered in Laxmi Nagar Police Station on allegations of spreading fake news on his Youtube channel in connection with the Northeast Delhi violence in February.
